On October 11, 2008, 66 people weathered the storm and participated in the 3rd Annual Eight Inch Cup tournament at Cross Creek Golf Links in Cambridge. After 18 holes of golf there was still a tie for first place in the championship flight but the team of Anderson, Lindstadt and Hull birdied the first playoff hole to come away with the victory. Despite the cool weather and rain, everyone stayed out and finished their round and then came in and ate and watched the cornhuskers come back to tie Texas Tech and go into overtime. The day was almost a complete success but unfortunately the Huskers fell just short of pulling off a big upset.
